For over twenty years, Health Heelers has distinguished itself as the premier organization for providing seamless Animal-Assisted program services in southeastern Wisconsin. Laura Hey, founder of Health Heelers, is widely recognized as an authority in the field of Animal-Assisted Interventions.
Laura designed and directed programs, and authored and taught courses on the Human-Animal bond and Animal-Assisted Services to baccalaureate students and community professionals learning how to incorporate standards-based Animal-Assisted Services into their practices. Additionally, she’s actively involved in animal advocacy and has participated in national and international work groups committed to enhancing standards of practice within the field of Animal-Assisted Services. She also serves as a professional mentor through the American Psychological Association’s Human-Animal Interaction division.
